ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Goodwill of North Georgia has announced that it will continue to offer its SNAP Employment & Training (E&T) program during the pause in benefits due to the government shutdown.
The organization, which is the largest SNAP E&T provider in the state, chose to continue its services by using private and charitable funding. It says without this support, many residents “could lose eligibility for future food assistance and job readiness programs.”
According to the organization, SNAP E&T helps recipients develop skills, training, and work experience to achieve long-term employment and financial independence.
