BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A doctor is reminding parents about protecting kids from poisonous items.
According to Baton Rouge Clinic Pediatrician Dr. Susan Bankston, dangerous items could be lurking in a home’s bathroom, kitchen, or bedroom. Some potentially harmful materials are cleaning chemicals, medications, vaping devices, marijuana edibles, and batteries.
If you have any concerns that a young person ingested something poisonous, you should reach out immediately to poison control by calling the number 1-800-222-1222. The number works anywhere in the United States.
Dr. Bankston explained that with Christmas nearing, parents should especially be aware of batteries in toys.
