As a local pastor, I regularly meet with individuals and families who are struggling to pay their utility bills. Many of these same people come to my office after exhausting other options – including the very agencies listed in your Oct. 26 article on APS’s expanded community support.

Unfortunately, what they encounter far too often is silence: unanswered phone lines, limited call windows of just a few hours each week, and no way to speak with a real person when they’re desperate for help.
