RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WOLO) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Camp Ground Road on Saturday morning.

Around 1:15 a.m., deputies say they responded to the 600 block of Camp Ground Rd in reference to a shooting.

When deputies arrived on scene, citizens were attempting to render aid to a victim with a gunshot wound in the upper body.

Deputies began to render aid to the victim until EMS arrived on scene. When EMS arrived, they pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

RCSD investigators and the Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate.
