In the conference's marquee game of the week, No. 18 Oklahoma came out with a 33-27 win over No. 14 Tennessee on Rocky Top. The win for the Sooners should serve to be an important one going into the first release of the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday, Nov. 4, while the loss will likely take the Vols out of contention for one of the CFP's 12 seeds .

The Diego Pavia Heisman Trophy train took an unexpected detour at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, with No. 11 Vanderbilt falling 34-31 to Arch Manning and No. 19 Texas. Manning put together one of his best performances of the season, as he completed 25 of 33 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns.
