It was a contest of fine margins as Félix Auger-Aliassime went toe to toe with Jannik Sinner in the Paris Masters final on Sunday. But the Canadian never quite found the key to unlock the Italian’s serve.

Sinner, who did not drop a set all week, defeated the Montrealer 6-4, 7-6 (4) to reclaim the world No. 1 ranking and add another trophy to his standout season.

Auger-Aliassime, once ranked as high as No. 6 in 2022, arrived in Paris’s Bercy district riding a wave of confidence. The 25-year-old had won three titles this year, including Brussels two weeks ago, and cruised past Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik in straight sets to reach his second Masters 1000 final.
