KENTWOOD, La. —

A Kentwood man has been arrested in connection with internet sex crimes.

Michael Helton, 44, of Kentwood, was arrested. Advertisement

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, in August, they began investigating the uploading of child sexual assault material on a social media app.

Helton was identified as the person who published the content and a obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Detectives said after finding multiple devices, Helton is charged with seven counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13 and additional charges are expected.
