Michigan’s hockey team opened Big Ten play with a road sweep over Notre Dame.

Sophomore forward Will Horcoff, a 2025 first-round pick of the Penguins, scored two goals in Friday’s 5-3 victory and then netted the game-winner in overtime on Saturday.

Junior forward Nick Moldenhauer tied the game at one early in the third, and Horcoff buried a cross-ice feed from Jayden Perron in overtime for a 2-1 victory.

With his three-goal weekend, Horcoff is now tied for second nationally with 10 for the second-ranked Wolverines (9-1).

Both of his goals Friday came on the power play. The Wolverines scored four of their five goals with the man-advantage and led by multiple goals for the final 38 minutes against the Irish (3-4-1).
