FULTON COUNTY, Ohio (WPTA) - One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in northwest Ohio on Sunday.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened near the intersection of County Road 25 and County Road W in Fulton County around 6:15 a.m.
According to the patrol, troopers were called to the area for a car submerged in Brush Creek.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the car was traveling south on County Road 25 when it left the east side of the roadway, struck a guard rail end and bridge abutment, and overturned into the waterway.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Preston Boundy of Defiance, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say it is unknown if Boundy was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor.
