SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Department is investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl.
At 6:35 a.m. Sunday, officers and emergency medical staff responded to a report for an unresponsive person at the City Park in Eagle Butte.
Responders found an unresponsive 16-year-old girl and began life-saving measures, but despite their efforts she was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement says there is no indication of a threat to the public, and the circumstances surrounding the death are under active investigation.
