A deranged Arizona man strangled his own mother to death and chopped up her body, claiming she was part of a “group of people giving their lives to darkness,” police said.

Leroy Vallejos, 48, made the chilling confession to the gruesome slaying after Albuquerque police found a bloody saw and body parts stuffed in a freezer inside the home, KRQE-TV News reported .

Police said Vallejos told cops he killed 69-year-old Ernestina Lucero because he believed she was part of a group that was conspiring against him, according to the outlet.
