A young boy has been airlifted to hospital with 'serious' injuries after being hit by an Audi.

Emergency services, including police, paramedics and an air ambulance, rushed to Highfield Road in Blackpool at 12.35pm today (November 2).

Lancashire Constabulary said it received reports of a child being hit by a white Audi Q5.

The child has been flown to Alder Hey Hospital where his condition is described as 'serious but stable' .

Officers said the Audi driver initially failed to stop after the collision, but later came back to the scene where her vehicle was seized, reports Lancs Live .
