New Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team made history Sunday, clinching their first World Cup title by beating South Africa by 52 runs in a nail-biting final at Navi Mumbai’s D. Y. Patil Sports Academy.

South Africa won the toss and chose to field first. India scored 298 runs, losing 7 wickets, while South Africa scored 246 runs before Ayabonga Khaka was run out.
