DETROIT. (WILX) - The Detroit Lions returned from their bye week and are currently down 17-14 to the Vikings at halftime.
The Lions converted a 4th and four into a 40-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to Sam Laporta to give Detroit a 7-0 lead.
Minnesota answered back when former Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy connected with Justin Jefferson for a 10-yard touchdown to level the score at 7.
Detroit punted, and the Vikings took the lead on a McCarthy 7-yard touchdown pass to former Lions’ tight end T.J. Hockenson to give Minnesota a 14-7 lead.
Both teams would punt on their next drives. Detroit would go for it on 4th and one on Minnesota’s two-yard line, and David Montgomery powered his way in for the touchdown to knot the score at 14 in the second quarter.
