SLIDELL, La. — A woman accused of shoplifting at a Dillard’s store in Slidell was arrested Saturday after a chase that ended with the help of a bystander, Slidell Police Department reports.
According to a posted by the Slidell Police Department, an officer working a security detail at the Dillard’s on Town Center Parkway was alerted to a shoplifting in progress. When the alleged suspect, identified as 34-year-old Kelsey Baird of Navarre, Florida, saw the officer, she tried to leave the store.
Slidell Police Sgt. Jeff Kahrs attempted to stop her as she fled on foot into the parking lot. Police said Baird’s friend, 43-year-old Eric Boudreaux of Biloxi, Mississippi, was waiting in a car nearby and honked his horn to indicate his location.
