CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Police responded to an incident — later determined to be a standoff — that resulted in road closures Sunday afternoon in Cheektowaga.

Cheektowaga Police responded to a scene on Broadway around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The road was closed a short time before 4 p.m. between Union Road and Dick Road, according to NITTEC, which provides real-time traffic updates across Western New York.

Broadway was reopened to traffic in both directions around 5:50 p.m.

A 2 On Your Side photojournalist saw one person put into a police car before being transferred into an ambulance.

We reached out to Cheektowaga Police for details about the incident. We did not immediately hear back.
