Bowling fans got to strike up a friendly competition to give back to one nonprofit.
Rolling for Rescues got underway at GreenGarden Lanes, where bowlers of all levels participated in a fun tournament to give back to the Erie Humane Society.
The sporting event also had chances to win prizes, basket raffles and tip boards, along with other ways to help support the shelter.
This was the shelter's first year doing a bowling tournament fundraiser.
Joe Lang, executive director of Erie Humane Society, said, "It's to support our everyday mission, taking care of the dogs and cats and all of the animals that we take care of. That's what this money will be used for."
Lang said they will soon have more upcoming events, such as their well-known Whisker Wonderland photoshoot, along with trivia firs
