HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An immersive stage production honoring the World War II Nisei soldiers is playing this weekend in Honolulu.

Performances will be at the McKinley High School Auditorium on Nov. 8 and 9. The building still bears bullet holes from the December 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor and Oahu, making it a uniquely powerful venue.

“Defining Courage” tells the story of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and Military Intelligence Service -- Japanese American soldiers who fought for their country while many of their families were incarcerated in the United States World War II camps. Many of the soldiers were from Hawaii.
