GLOCESTER – A dynasty was officially born on Saturday.
Cumberland threw everyone in Rhode Island a curveball at last weekend's Class Championships , but brought nothing but heat at Saturday’s RIIL Cross Country Girls Championships on Nov. 1 and made it clear exactly where the program’s mindset is at.
Cecelia Ludwig fulfilled the potential she showed as a freshman with one of the more dominant wins in state history, finishing in 18 minutes, 17.27 seconds for a 27.7 victory. With Charli McCue behind her in third and three other Clippers in the top 12, the team scored 26 points, making the gap between them and La Salle’s 54 as large as the 3.1 mile gap the team just ran.
