The Minnesota Vikings were able to come through with a massive win over the NFC North rival Detroit Lions in Week 9. After dropping two straight games to the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers, the Vikings badly needed to find their way back into the win column.

Led by second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota was able to improve to 4-4 on the season.

McCarthy completed 14 of his 25 pass attempts for 143 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the win. He also ran for 12 yards and a touchdown.
