OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 30 points and seven assists in three quarters, and the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 137-106 on Sunday to extend their season-opening winning streak to seven games. The Pelicans fell to 0-6 to start the season.
"Yeah, it's a long season," Pelicans coach Willie Green said. "Long season. You've got to stay together and continue to work at it. You know, we'll get back to practice and we'll just keep going from there. But the biggest thing is just stay together, keep fighting for each other (and) let's try to string together a consistent game."
Green is now 21-71 in his last 92 games coached, dating back to the Pelicans getting swept by the Thunder in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
