Stanford University will discontinue its long-running Diversifying Academia, Recruiting Excellence (DARE) Doctoral Fellowship Programme by the end of this year. The decision, which comes amid University-wide budget cuts and changes in federal policy, marks the end of a 17-year initiative aimed at increasing diversity within academia. According to a statement obtained by The Stanford Daily, the DARE programme will be replaced with a new graduate fellowship launching in Autumn 2026.
