The family of an 8-year-old Ramsey boy is asking for support after a pit bull attack left him hospitalized.
Waylon Michaelson was recently hospitalized following an “unprovoked, vicious attack” involving a pit bull, according to a recently created GoFundMe.
The attack left Michaelson with seven lacerations totaling more than 12 inches in length. He also lost a portion of his facial tissue in the attack.
Michaelson was taken to Children’s Minnesota in St. Paul, where he was intubated and underwent three hours of emergency surgery to repair his face and neck. He required more than 50 stitches internally and externally on his face and neck, according to the GoFundMe.
As a result of the attack, Michaelson has missed school and required therapy, the fundraiser states.
