EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -The Spartan Spectacular took place at the Wharton Center on Sunday, continuing a Michigan State band tradition that has been going on since 1971.
The tradition brings together the MSU Symphony and Marching Band for a high-energy, surround-sound experience.
Jacob Danca, a member of the band, said the event showcases the high level of playing achieved by different groups within the MSU bands.
“It’s really just a great outlet to see the really high level of playing that we achieved through all of the different groups that are playing for the MSU bands,” Danca said. “As well as just having that community aspect. Just having everyone come to one place, whether it’s parents, alumni, or students coming to watch this play.”
