A disturbing video from Manipur showing a group of men assaulting transgender women has triggered widespread condemnation across social media and activist circles. The footage, which went viral on social media platforms, show several men forcing the victims to raise their hands while repeatedly beating them with sticks.

According to local sources, the individuals subjected to the attack were allegedly members of the transgender community who were making reels on Hindi music during Diwali celebrations. The group reportedly refused to stop recording when confronted by a group of men who objected to their activity, leading to an altercation.

Among those assaulted was Konjengbam Malemnganba, a well-known transgender actor recognized for portraying female roles in Manipur’s traditional Shuman
