The Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL), a T20 cricket tournament taking place in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, involving local, national, and international players, has encountered significant challenges. Some players are stranded at a local hotel, and reports suggest that organisers have fled the Valley.
The event, organised by private sponsors, is facing difficulties after several players allegedly boycotted matches due to unpaid dues, leading to disruption.
According to a report in Economic Times , IHPL was organised by Mohali-based Yuva Society and allegedly promoted by J&K Sports Council with its secretary Nuzhat Gul present during the opening ceremony and match.
However, Gul now claims that the government or the Sports Council has “nothing to do" with the IHPL.
