CHICAGO (WLS) -- A drive-by shooter killed a teenage boy inside a Southwest Side Burger King on Sunday evening, Chicago police said.

Police said a Jeep SUV pulled up to the restaurant in the Archer Heights neighborhood's 4000-block of South Pulaski Road just after 7 p.m.

Someone inside the SUV fired shots, striking a 17-year-old boy, who was inside the restaurant, police said.

Police said the victim, shot in the head, was taken in critical condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner identified the victim as Rodrigo Franco of Chicago.

The SUV's driver fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No one is in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.
