All India Congress Committee General Secretary Vikas Upadhyay lauded Assam Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi, asserting that he is riding a “wave” among people across the state.

Upadhyay expressed confidence in Congress’ victory in the 2026 Assam elections under Gaurav Gogoi’s leadership.

“There’s a wave across Assam for a young leader who raised his voice in Parliament during Operation Sindoor… We have seen the intentions and sentiments of the people here… A different atmosphere prevails throughout the state today. In 2026, a Congress government will be formed here,” Vikas Upadhyay told ANI.

He mentioned that the BJP could not defeat the Congress ideology in the 2024 general elections, when Gaurav Gogoi contested from Jorhat and won.
