Captain Liam Greentree continues to leave his mark on the Windsor Spitfires.
The 19-year-old Greentree fired his fourth career OHL regular-season hat trick on Sunday at the WFCU Centre.
It not only powered the club to a 5-2 win over the Flint Firebirds, but moved Greentree past Steve Ott, Steve Gibson and Jeff Martin and into sixth place on the franchise’s all-time career goal scorers list with 119 regular-season goals.
“There’s some really cool names,” Greentree said of the team’s all-time scoring list. “There’s a lot of great players and to be in that category is something special. It’s been a great four years.”
Next up, Greentree needs five goals to pass Tim Findlay and Taylor Hall (at 123 goals each) and move into the franchise’s top five.
