BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Corey and Trinity Johnson have been married all of eight days, but what happened three days after they tied the knot made them see things differently.

Not even three days after clear skies and celebrations, they were stuck in Jamaica to wait out the Category 5 hurricane that was coming directly toward them.

“The storm got about 20 miles away from us and then took a right turn and passed about 15 miles away from us,” Trinity Johnson said.

The father of the bride, Bishop Joseph “AJ” Ford, is also the pastor at Higher Grounds Christian Center. He said they never panicked, only prayed.
