New Delhi: During India’s victory lap after clinching their first Women’s World Cup title, captain Harmanpreet Kaur handed over the trophy to stalwarts Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami — the all-time leading run-scorer and wicket-taker respectively. The duo, who represented India for almost 20 years, had reached the final twice in 2005 and 2017 but fell painfully short. However, just past midnight on November 3, the dream they had chased for decades was finally achieved even if it arrived after they had stepped away from the field.
