Hyderabad: At least 19 people were killed and several others injured after a tipper truck collided with a Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus in the Ranga Reddy district of Telangana on Monday.

The accident occurred near Khanapur Gate, under the jurisdiction of the Chevella police station. According to the police, the gravel load of the tipper toppled on the bus after the collision, worsening the impact of the crash. The death toll may rise further.

There were around 70 passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident. Rescue teams are using JCB machines to pull apart the mangled bus and tipper to recover the bodies of those trapped inside. ADVERTISEMENT
