SALT LAKE CITY — On Halloween night, while many were out trick-or-treating or attending costume parties, a brave group of locals chose a different kind of adventure — one that explores the haunted corners of Salt Lake City’s historic downtown.

Their final stop? The iconic Salt Lake County Building, a stunning architectural landmark with a chilling reputation.

“There are definitely things happening here,” said Cody Owen, a guide with U.S. Ghost Adventures. “Something is here.”

Owen led a group of ghost-hunting enthusiasts through six of the city’s most haunted locations, starting with the historic Capitol Theatre.

“On the second floor, things get moved around. Doors that are locked will be unlocked,” Owen explained. “We refer to one spirit as ‘George.’”
