BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. — Miyabi Moriya scored her first NWSL goal in the 23rd minute, but Angel City FC fell 2-1 to the Chicago Stars on Sunday at SeatGeek Stadium.
Moriya put Angel City ahead with a low finish off Nealy Martin’s assist. Chicago equalized in the 49th minute through Jameese Joseph after a one-two with Nadia Gomes, and Ally Schlegel netted the winner in the 98th minute.
Christen Press entered in the 59th minute and Ali Riley came on in stoppage time for their final NWSL appearances. Angel City finished 7-6-13; Chicago ended at the bottom of the table.
Angel City’s Riley Tiernan finished with eight goals, most among 2025 rookies; Gotham defender Lilly Reale is among her competition for Rookie of the Year.
