GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Veterans in need were able to get buckets filled with everyday items in Gainesville on Sunday. In total, 30 blessing buckets were handed out.
The Blessing Buckets Program got it’s start back in 2013.
It’s founder, Ronna Jackson, came up with the idea after the death of her son who sacrificed his life for his country.
Jackson says she felt called to do something to support other veterans.
“It’s really humbling it’s a huge part of my healing but to know it’s all about the veterans and next week is Veterans Day and it’s right around the corner so again it’s a way to let them know we love them we support them, and we are here for them forever and always” Ronna Jackson, the chaplain of the American Legion, said.
