Two Monroe County families are suing their local school districts over denied vaccine exemptions.
A pair of federal lawsuits claim school officials in Webster and Penfield unlawfully rejected signed medical exemptions for students with a "documented" history of negative reactions to vaccines that protect against tetanus, whooping cough and meningitis. The students, an 11-year-old girl from Webster and a 17-year-old boy from Penfield, have been blocked from attending school since late September, the lawsuits say.
