The Nifty India Defence index rose 0.36 per cent to 8,164.85 points in afternoon trading on Monday, with the indicative close at 8,166.60, up 31.38 points from the previous close of 8,135.20. The index opened at 8,148.75 and touched an intraday high of 8,185.75.
Zen Technologies led the gainers with a 4.71 per cent surge to ₹1,421.10, emerging as the third most active stock by value with ₹173.04 crore. Astra Microwave Products climbed 2.87 per cent to ₹1,072.20, while Solar Industries gained 1.82 per cent to ₹14,131.00.
Bharat Electronics dominated trading activity with a turnover of ₹1,017.88 crore despite declining 0.99 per cent to ₹421.90. Hindustan Aeronautics contributed ₹187.11 crore in value with a marginal 0.13 per cent gain to ₹4,686.00. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders advanced 0.65
