Kalahandi : A seven-year-old boy died while his five-year-old brother was injured critically after being trampled by a wild tusker at Kunnakadu village village of Trilochanpur panchayat under Lanjigarh Section in Kalahandi district.
The deceased is identified as Ravi Majhi, and his injured brother is Samari Majhi, both sons of Kanu Majhi.
According to report, the incident occurred this morning when Ravi and his brother, Samari were heading to their farm near the forest. The elephant attacked Ravi, resulting in his death, while Samari was thrown to the ground, sustaining injuries to his back.
It is learnt that the victim’s father, Kanu Majhi, had settled in Haradaguda village three years ago and was engaged in shifting cultivation in the nearby forest.
