Bengaluru’s 64th Sessions Court on Monday framed charges of murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, and unlawful assembly against actor Darshan, Pavitra Gowda, and 15 others in the Renukaswamy murder case . All 17 accused pleaded not guilty. The trial will begin on November 10.

The victim, Renukaswamy (33), a resident of Chitradurga and a fan of actor Darshan, was found dead near a storm-water drain in Bengaluru on June 9 2024. He had reportedly sent offensive messages to Pavitra Gowda, an associate of Darshan, prompting the abduction and torture that led to his death.

The proceedings began amid a packed courtroom, prompting Judge IP Naik to express frustration over the overcrowding.
