Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Amy Dowden has announced she is to undergo "another mastectomy this week".

The 35-year-old said the surgery was "not to treat a new cancer diagnosis" but came following an appointment with her "incredible" medical team.

Amy previously underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023, leaving her unable to compete in that year’s edition of the BBC dancing show.

On Monday (November 3), she posted a video on Instagram confirming the news, alongside which the Welsh dancer wrote: "As you all know I’ve always been very open about my health and the care I receive. So I’d like to start by being clear that what I am about to share is not to treat a new cancer diagnosis.
