A much-love Coventry cafe has been forced not to open for the day after a reported break in. Playwrights Café located at the Coventry Canal Basin is said to have been broken into in the early hours of Monday (3 November).

Management at the cafe took to its social media channels to alert followers and customers of the reason for the closure. They thanked local police for their swift action in attending the scene to investigate.

Following a tidy up, it is hoped the venue will be back open to customers on Tuesday (4 November).
