SHAPLEIGH, Maine — A Shapleigh woman reported waking early Sunday to find an unknown man inside her home, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
The homeowner, a 45-year-old woman living on Newfield Road, called deputies around 2:40 a.m. Sunday and reported that a man she did not know had been inside her house, the sheriff's office said in a social media post . Two teenagers were also in the home at the time. The homeowner told deputies the man had left the house and was standing on her porch, according to the release.
Deputy Travis Jones responded and found a man outside matching the description provided. The sheriff’s office said he was identified as Nicholas Knuppel, 23, of Brunswick.
