The Department for Work and Pensions has issued an urgent " you do not" warning for millions of state pensioners. The DWP has put out an alert ahead of administering the Winter Fuel Payments for retirees across the country.
Under the scheme, state pensioners are set to receive up to £300 from the DWP over the coming months. Those born on or before 21 September 1959, and who resided in England or Wales during the qualifying week (15-21 September 2025), will be eligible for the payment.
But the DWP has cautioned people against responding to text messages, as they could be tricked out of their money.
