Fairleigh Dickinson University has finalized an agreement to transfer ownership of Wroxton College — its historic campus in England — to a group led by university alumni.
The announcement that the ownership will be transferred in the spring came five months after the private New Jersey university reached a preliminary deal with the alumni group. That deal ended longtime speculation about the college’s possible closure.
Under the deal, Wroxton College will continue to offer classes to Fairleigh Dickinson students studying abroad.
Wroxton College, owned by Fairleigh Dickinson since 1965, uses a 17th-century Jacobean mansion known as Wroxton Abbey. It is located on 56 acres in the county of Oxfordshire, about 60 miles from London.
