Dr. David O’Hagan once thought he’d spend just a year in Ste. Rose. The community will spend the rest of its years grateful he never left.

More than 250 residents filled the Ste. Rose Health Centre on October 18 to celebrate a remarkable milestone — four decades of service by Dr. O’Hagan, a physician whose name has become synonymous with care, compassion, and community in the Parkland region.

Organized by current and former staff of the Ste. Rose Health Centre, the event recognized Dr. O’Hagan’s 40 years of continuous service to patients, families, and medical students. A plaque was unveiled in his honour, and the Emergency Department wing of the Ste. Rose Hospital was officially dedicated to him, marking a permanent tribute to his impact on rural medicine.
