A month into the government shutdown, sporadic staff shortages at air traffic control facilities have caused hiccups at airports across the United States.

However, officials say that operations at Boston's Logan International Airport have remained largely normal during this time.

The government shut down on Oct. 1 as lawmakers failed to reach an agreement over funding, causing some services to close temporarily.

While most employees at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are deemed "essential" and expected to work through the shutdown , they won't get paid until the government is funded again.
