BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- If you hear the familiar jingle of The New 96.1’s Christmas commercial, you know the holiday season has officially arrived in Buffalo. The station flipped to all-Christmas music over the weekend and celebrated the kickoff with a festive morning show on Monday.

Morning host Dave Fields said the station wanted to get an early start on the holiday season.

“Where the only station in Buffalo playing all Christmas music. We wanted to get a jump on the holiday season,” said Fields, “We know people of Western New York love hearing Christmas music, especially right after Halloween. So, we wanted to go all Christmas that’s what we’re doing 24/7 all the way through the big day and beyond.”
