Tuesday is Election Day and voters will be taking part in municipal elections across the state.

Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas said turnout for municipal elections is typically lower than federal races, but local leaders have a lot say in issues directly affecting people.

“Presidents do not fix our streetlights. They don’t decide how many teachers are in our child’s classrooms or whether our neighborhoods get a sidewalk. That all happens right here in Connecticut at the local level and tomorrow voters across Connecticut will make decisions in the places that we call home,” Thomas said.
