A sand and rock mining site near State Routes 101 and 202 could be redeveloped into a casino and commercial development that will eventually replace Casino Arizona, officials from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community said.
The community is releasing a request for interest to redevelop 270 acres of tribal land on the northeast corner of State Routes 101 and 202. The site is located on the reservation, but is near Tempe, Mesa and Scottsdale. It is one of the largest contiguous undeveloped properties in the area, which has become a destination for entertainment and commercial development.
