Police are investigating a serious traffic crash involving a car and electric skateboard in Birkdale last night, 3 November.

Initial investigations indicate at 8.10pm, a grey Toyota Prado was travelling south along Birkdale Road when the vehicle has struck an electric skateboard near the roundabout at Birkdale Road and Quarry Road.

The rider of the electric skateboard, a 30-year-old Alexandra Hills man sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota, a 40-year-old Birkdale woman, was not physically injured.

Police are appealing to anyone with information or relevant dashcam vision to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
